Its been confirmed that two people have been found dead in Rivers state as a
result of lassa fever,a disease caused by rat,right now the states found of this deadly disease are in Bauchi,
Nasarawa, Niger, Taraba, Kano, Rivers, Edo and Oyo states.
The Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole, who stated this
in a statement he issued on Wednesday in Abuja, in response to the outbreak of
Lassa Fever in the country, added that “the World Health Organisation is being
notified of the cases confirmed.”
My take is for us to ensure that all the holes where these rats find their way into a home should be covered,food should well cooked and shoud be put in a sealed container....since these rodents multiply really fast.
