Kidnappers in Ekosodin seize the opportunity as flights are being cancelled due to bad weather

What a shame! The rate at which the kidnapping has increased these past few days in Benin due to air planes cancelling their flights as a result of bad weather.

The recent kidnap which took place right after the University of Benin on a Sunday (24th of Jan,2016) was futile as one of the victims cried out for joy….. The two men who did not want to miss work on Monday after field operation in their organization over during the previous week decided to join private automobile to Lagos on Sunday in order to meet up with Monday work, narrate their ordeal as the kidnappers had called their families for the ransom of N500million to be paid into their account if they wanted them alive.

According to one of the victims; we barely passed University of Benin, when some kidnappers ambushed us, took all our bags, phones everything from us. The next thing was calls to our families for ransom, anyone who didn’t cooperate was in for mistreatment. As God will have it, in between the police invaded the area….that was how we all took to our heels running for our dear lives…

I did not not which I was heading but wanted to get away from all them all. Most us found ourselves hiding in the bush, when we got tired of running and out of breath, luckily for us we found hope when we ran into one of the farmers who helped us …somehow we were able to get the village and we found help who helped us reached our families and we able to find our way.

The journey met for few hours turned to two days, but we thank God,I was able to see my family again.

What an ordeal, we also found out that, some of the kidnappers were working together with the police men…that was quiet some shock to hear that. The good news is that the people were safe and united with their families.
