The US ambassador to Libya and three other embassy staff killed by an armed Islamist mob that stormed and set fire to the United States consulate in Benghazi.
The death of the UE ambassador,Chris Steven and three other Americans, was confirmed by President Barack Obama.
Mr Stevens was killed after the US Consulate came under attack by a mob with guns and rocket propelled grenades. They were protesting about an American film called The Innocence of Muslims.
