Auto crash -10 primary school pupils found dead

“The learners of Okhombe Primary School were travelling back from Ladysmith after a sports event when their taxi allegedly hit a cow and plunged into a river,’’   Senzo Mchunu , Head of Education Department in KaZulu-Natal, told newsmen.

“Heavy rain storms in most parts of the city over the weekend have resulted to a number of accidents. “In one of the accidents, the driver of an Iveco vehicle lost control and hit a wall.

The accident claimed one life,’’ Wayne Minaar, Metro police spokesperson, said. He said motorists were reminded to drive with extra caution in the rains, saying, “it’s important that motorists reduce speed.”

Ten school children were killed and several others injured in an auto crash in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, on Sunday.
