The council staff, Fatai Olalekan Odeniyi, died after falling from the 8th floor of the WAEC elevator last wednesday.
The demand placed are 1.The wife of the deceased should be employed by WAEC.
2.One billion naira should be given to the family
3.The three children should be sponsored throughout their educational level.
Nice demand alright.....but do you think any of these demands will be met?
The father of three who had gone to WAEC to obtain his O’level certificate before he met his untimely death, got his head smashed and body mangled. The aggrieved council’s staff and NULGE who stormed the examination body’s office as early as 7am, barricaded the office and prevented their staffs from gaining access into the compound.
They also brandished placards with inscriptions like: “An Injury To One Is Injury To All, Fatai will not die in vain, WAEC Officials Are Murderers, Alhaja W. Bello You Better Commit Suicide Before Its Too late and so on. NULGE President, Lagos State chapter, Comrade Lasisi Ayinde Adesanya while speaking with journalists, said that their reason for picketing WAEC was due to their insensitivity to the issue since the ugly incident happened.
He urged his people not to vandalise or attack police officers who were deployed at the gate to prevent violence, adding that they have not shown any sign that they are supporting WAEC since the unfortunate incident happened. “We are here because one of our members was gruesomely killed while he was here to obtain his certificate. He died after falling off the elevator which carried no sign that it was faulty.
The pictures on the placards carried by our people show the kind of harrowing experience he went through before he died. “He fell from the eighth floor and got his head smashed and all his ribs, hand, legs broken. Since the incident happened, we have written series of letters to WAEC without any response. We believe that if this situation is not redressed, it would repeat itself in the nearest future.
“The person we are talking about here is not an animal but a human being like them here in WAEC. Therefore, we are here to support our deceased member and his families and also to ensure that they are fully compensated by WAEC,” he said. Speaking on their demand from WAEC, Comrade Adesanya said: “we want them to employ his wife as well as make a monetary compensation in the sum of N1billion to his immediate family and aged mother. “We also want them to provide scholarship to his three children that he left behind and anything short of these will not be acceptable to us. This is our simple demand from WAEC to the deceased family,” he said.

It show the level of illiteracy,1billion is ok if it ever happens, as for the other demands, it ain't going to happen
Common now,why throw social responsibility on WAEC,the wife being employed and sponsoring the kids....
A gd lawyer can get a negotiation of some millions

Its possible they can get it if they know their rights and have a gd lawyer
