The Former Deputy Governor Former Deputy Governor of Benue State, Prince Ogiri Ajene is dead. Prince Ogiri Ajene died yesterday from illness in a London hospital.
Ajene who served as a deputy to George Akume between 1999-2007, passed on in London after a brief illness.
Benue State Governor Gabriel Suswam expressed dismay at the news saying “a large political vacuum has been created”
Ogiri served as a ward councillor between 2007 and 2011 in his Oju local council at the expiration of his tenure in Government House, Makurdi.
He also served in the third republic as member of the House of Representatives Between 1992 and 1993.
Ajene was son of the longest serving Ochi’ Idoma II, HRH, the late Abraham Ajene Okpabi who ruled Idoma kingdom for 45 years.
