Mobile communication provider response to NCC over 1.17bn fine for poor network quality

Do you remember this post http://xpressurselfshow.blogspot.com/2012/05/nigeria-communications-commission-ncc.html that MTN,GLO,Etisalat are their reasons for poor network quality and they should pay fine of 1.17bn….this was the response from them with a joint statement;

We would like to assure customers of all four networks that we are committed to providing high quality of service to our customers. Over the last ten years more than N 1 trillion has been invested in building and enhancing the four mobile networks. In 2012 alone, the four operators will be spending over N 400 billion of further investments in their networks. All four operators are actively competing with each other on quality of service to win the loyalty of existing customers and attract new customers.
We are all equally frustrated and concerned about the failures to meet customer expectations and needs with respect to the quality of service. Nigeria deserves and needs first class telecommunications networks. We thus apologise unreservedly to you, our customers, for those occasions when you have been disappointed or inconvenienced by a lapse or failure to deliver the requisite level of quality of service. We however believe that it is necessary to explain the major challenges we face as operators and ask for your understanding and support.

By the time you are done reading...do you agree with me on this? In all fairness MTN, Airtel, Globacom & Etisalat release Joint Statement  is 100% correct when they said that the fines which NCC had asked them to pay will not bring about the desired service quality except the power supply problem in this nation is solved.

The main factor affecting quality of service is the absence of a reliable source of power.

1st of all, these networks are unrelaible with or with d power system, even when they use their generator,they do these things on purpose bc they feel d they can get away with anything in ds country.secondly,NCC is taking this case bc it affects those in d govt, assuming it wasnt ds issue will not be raised.lastly it is a big shame that they ask them to pay d amt to NCC what about d individuals that were affect, they shld be rewarded with that amt bc they suffered fo it.Shame on the country,power supply is getting worse instead of getting better

Xpressurselfshow..i dont agree with on ds one, it 50,50, the power failure is to be blamed 50% while the other 50% is blamed on d network..with all the money they making off Nigerians, they shld have world class generator knowing d kind of unreliable power supply so that they satisfy their customers too
