4 UNILAG STUDENTS GANG RAPE 17 YEAR OLD FEMALE STUDENT

You are sent to school to study and become useful to the society but lately the rate at which the case of rape is being reported in our universities these days is alarming? Is because the gang rape at Abia State University last year, who  had the audacity to shoot a video of their sexual assault of the victim were not given capital punishment, that this one is happening AGAIN?

Four students of the University of Lagos were on Tuesday charged before an Ebute Meta Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly gang raping a 17-year-old girl. The accused – Jeremiah Bamigbayan, 18; Lanre Olayemi, 19; Abisoye Atoyegbe, 18; and Nelson Onyeoziri, 18 – are facing a three-count charge of rape, conspiracy and assault.

They pleaded not guilty to the charges. But the prosecutor, ASP Innocent Effiong, said the accused, all of the Business Administration Department, allegedly committed the offence when they conspired and raped their victim on March 17.

He said the alleged victim, a student of History and Strategic Studies of the same university, was overpowered and raped at about 10.30 p.m. at Ozolua Boys Quarters on the campus. Effiong said the offences contravened Section 258, 259 and 409 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos State 2011. Magistrate Adesola Ikpatt granted the accused bail in the sum of N100, 000 each, with two sureties each in like sum. She adjourned the case to April 30 for mention.

A Bsc holder as housemaid

Dear Xpresurselfshow, abeg share this with your readers, I hope I did the right thing
Graduate with Bsc. In linguist has been out of school for the past two years without a job and then two days ago she got a call on her phone telling that she should come for an interview at Victoria Island with details to the place as a house tutor and her C.V(resume) was seen on LinkedIn site. The person she will be working for is a French woman; all this was related to her via telephone. Of course she jumped at it……The next day as early as possible she got prepared and wore her best suit singing and praising God and off she left for the interview. Getting there …this was her story.

I walked into a big compound, well received, was taken straight to the living room; there I met four other ladies obviously who had come for the same interview. When it was my turn, the French lady said “actually we are looking for a graduate who will be a nanny to my kids, someone who will translate French to my kids in English, and make sure the kids are well looked after, when they are in school, you will cook, clean their rooms and go shopping for the home and also cook for them, you will be living with us,we will feed you and the driver will take you to the market and also pick the kids from school. N60, 000 per month”.

“My people to God and man I was furious, I am fair in complexion and I bet my skin turned red from the horrible words coming from her mouth…in my mind I felt this French woman must think I am stupid and desperate from being called on the phone to be a Teacher to become NANNY(House girl), what experience will I have on my C.V, why was I not told this on the phone so I need not waste my money transporting myself to such a place….and abroad Nannies are paid hourly if out all somewhere in my subconscious mind would stoop so low to considering the job.

Now in my head I calculated the roles of all the jobs I will be involved in….when will I have breathing space,so where will I have time to look for a better job? no privacy…..it was more like a 24hours job because my only break is when the kids are in school but that is the time I’ll be shopping…..I had to walk out with my dignity intact before I lose it with rains of abuses on her, does this woman think she can turn me into a slave in my own country?………..later that same day was told one of the people that came for the interview with me had taken the job.

Should I have taken the job? Or as I kept my head high, hoping and believing that I will get a job that will reflect good experience on my C.V, even if it s N20,000 in a month as a teacher than being a nanny(house girl)”

Do you really think she should have swallowed her pride and taken the job? At least till she gets something better……..I know what some people might be thinking…..the economic situation is to be blamed right?

Task force in Lagos arrests 86 persons for having no address and no work.

Lagos State Task Force on Environment and Special Offences (Enforcement) Unit has arrested 86 suspected illegal squatters, food vendors and aliens in Ikoyi area of the state for not having definite residential address and means of livelihood.

Good moves I must say,but dont you think that the government should provide them with craftsmanship? there must be something good these people are good at.....dont you think so?

It was learnt that the arrest was in response to complaints by residents of the area about the presence of illegal squatters in uncompleted buildings and makeshift shops.
It was also learnt that the report of a security investigations conducted by policemen did not favour the squatters, as they were classified as security risk.

Task Force Chairman, Bayo Sulaiman, subsequently led policemen that raided the area between 11pm and 1am on Wednesday. Sulaiman said those arrested were found in abandoned houses, shops and were food vendors and aliens.

He said some of them were suspected to be part of criminal gangs terrorising Ikoyi residents. The Chairman said, “They were arrested at Lugard Street, Bedwell Street, Glover Street and three different spots in Parkview Estate. “Those arrested were those selling and living in shanties and those living in uncompleted buildings.” Sulaiman explained that the food vendors were arrested because they usually sell food to suspected criminals squatting in uncompleted buildings.

An idle mind is the devil's workshop.......that might just be the reason why they maniac to the society.

Ini Edo’s marriage real or she’s just fooling herself?

So many people have been asking, is Ini Edo’s marriage real or she’s just fooling herself. Oh well !I hate to burst your bubble! But this is straight from the horse’s mouth :

Ini Edo ”Well, it is not easy at all especially since my husband is based abroad. I was actually supposed to leave for the United States last month (February) but I got so preoccupied that I had to call my husband and ask if he could come over.
Eventually, I had to plead with him before he agreed that I should come at a later date. It is not easy but he is very understanding and he appreciates my job a lot. He knows I work very hard, so we have a good understanding and we communicate often.
I have actually been able to hold on to my marriage. It depends on how you set your priorities and not get carried away by the whole fame thing. You should know where to be at the appropriate time and where not to be at all. I just create a balance between my career and my personal life.Like I said earlier my husband is based in the United States of America, but we see each other all the time. He just left Nigeria in January, and I should be with him in the US soon we shuttle. It is either he comes to Nigeria or I go over to the US.
He knows that I am not a bad person, he knows me well enough not to bother about the stories, all he does is call me up to find out what is happening.(laughs) Talking about the scandals, my husband knows me more than any other person.
Sometimes, when they say things about me and we are together at such moments, he would look at me and say; are you the same person that people are talking about? He knows what I can do.

I don’t think I will quit acting. I might divert to other areas that has to do with movies. My being involved in the entertainment world has not really affected my home, so there is nothing like calling it quits.”

Very impressive, well said Ini, on the behalf of xpressurselfshow we wish all the best in your marriage and your career.

To all those who thought otherwise about her marriage, are you satisfied with what she just said?

Prediction of 236days heavy rain in Lagos, 2012

No one can forget the effect of the heavy downpour of last year, it was so bad that many lives were lost and properties destroyed and now there is a prediction of rainfall in Lagos AGAIN! This time 236days! this sounds really bad O!
Photos of last year's rain

The Commissioner-Tunji Bello said: “The natural phenomena that controlled 2011 rainfall are still in force and as such it has been predicted that rainfall will commence from Thursday, March 22, with a margin of error of four days. To a large extent we will agree that this prediction is true as the rains have started in Lagos. It has also been predicted that the end of the season for 2012 is November 12 with a margin of error of two days; with between November 10 and 14 as probable days. The total length of rainy season for the year is approximately put at 236 days with a margin of error of two days. Like last year, Lagos will experience heavy rainfall with serious intensity.”

He further assured residents that the government had designed programmes to manage the expected rain water and minimize flooding through exercises such as massive clearing of drainages, dredging of primary and secondary channels, lining of many earth channels and the introduction of resident drainage maintenance officers in local councils in the state. The effects of last year’s rain on Sunday July 10, 2011 which lasted for about 15 hours still brings unpleasant memories to those who witnessed it. Some houses and cars were completely submerged in water and the flood got into people’s home in ways they never wished for. The floods showed the poor condition of drainages and the state’s unpreparedness for heavy rainfall.

Honestly I was expecting to read or hear that we need not to worry that every loop holes that made many lose lives and properties have been taken care of 100%, so that we as citizens can go about our daily lives without fear of these 236days rain prediction. Do you agree?

N4.56 billion meant for thousands of pensioners former director of pension buys lots of property with it

Some pensioners have not been paid for the past 10years yet one man acquires properties worth N4.56billion, is this wickedness or what?

Dr.Sani Teidi Shuaibu,is standing trial over a N4.56 billion pension scam in the disbanded Pension Unit in the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.

In what can be described as one of the biggest fraud investigations on an individual by the Commission, the Federal High Court in Abuja granted an order permitting the Executive Chairman of EFCC to seize and retain custody of Dr Shuaibu’s properties.(two choice buildings and four filling stations)

This country we do really have money,if the Federal Government decides to give each citizen 1million to start up whatever they are good at as source of livelihood, there will still be more than enough left to develop the country..... Abi no be true my people?  :)
