François Hollande: France new president

France has not had a Socialist president for 17 years, since the late Francois Mitterrand. Mr Hollande insists on adding growth measures to the fiscal pact negotiated by Mr Sarkozy. Sarkozy was seeking second term, but was defeated by Hollande with more than 52 percent of the votes

There you have it, hope he keeps to his promise……Growth!

Shaquille O’Neal receives doctoral degree in Education


Shaquille O'Neal received his doctoral degree in Education from Barry University yesterday 
He was one 1,100 students honored during the commencement ceremonies at the James L. Knight Center in downtown Miami.

Here is what he said “Everyone thinks this is honorary. But this is not honorary. I put in four and a half hard years staying up late at night, studying, reading, rewriting papers Dr. Kopp marked up."


Shaq says he is considering going to law school next.

Isabella Ayuk is an experienced beauty pageant contender as she had previously contested for the 2004 Miss Nigeria crowd.

FG Supports Lagos Plan to Clear Apapa of Tankers



Good news really, but how about providing more parking lot so that there will be no excuses for these illegal parking?

The Federal Government has backed the moves of the Lagos State Government to remove tankers and stationary vehicles illegally parked in Apapa area of the state.
The Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola has given a quit notice to tanker drivers and other vehicles to vacate the area as they cause serious traffic on the Oshodi- Apapa expressway.
The Special Adviser to the President on Performance and Evaluation and Chairman of the Ports Reform Committee, Professor Sylvester Monye met with Governor Fashola at the State House, Ikeja and declared that all trucks parked along Apapa road will be moved.
Monye said that what Lagos State Government achieved with Oshodi expressway is what needs to be done for Apapa, emphasizing that notices have been given just as undertakings have been made by the truckers.
Security officers will also be deployed to the area to ensure the operation is effectively carried out.
Prof. Monye said the Port Reforms Committee is committed to carrying out the instructions of President Goodluck Jonathan in clearing the mess at the port and its access roads.

Football Legend Rashidi Yekini is Dead

Nigerian Football Legend Rashidi Yekini has passed away Friday at 48 years old. He reportedly died due to a neurological disease he battled for years. One of the finest footballers Nigeria ever produced and a two time African footballer of the year, Rashidi Yekini Scored Nigeria’s first Ever FIFA World Cup goal 
leaving  behind two children,he Scored Nigeria’s first Ever FIFA World Cup goal and scored a total of 37 goals in 58 appearances for the National team, Super Eagles.
Yekini was born in Kaduna Nigeria on October 23rd 1963, after playing with various teams and in different countries; he made a short comeback in 2005 to play with Gateway FC.
He was buried this afternoon(5th May) according to Islamic rites at his hometown of Ira in Kwara state. May his soul rest
