Denis Richard who was married to Denise, 44, for four years.
The pair, who are parents to daughters Sam, 11, and Lola, 10, divorced in 2006.
According to US Weekly, the actress knew he had the disease and that her
children are not HIV-positive. They added that he "got infected after they
were together, four years ago or so.
He also Charlie Sheen admits he is HIV positive: "I'm here to admit that I am in fact HIV-positive," I have to put a stop to this onslaught, this barrage of attacks and of sub-truths and very harmful and mercurial stories that are about me, threatening the health of so many others, which couldn't be further from the truth.
