Oprah : Switzerland was a racist

People's reaction when Oprah posted how she was a victim of racism during her visit to Switzerland :
Kinda sad when you don't watch TV or read the newspaper or read magazines or don't have internet access or live under a rock. How in the blue fcuk do you not know Oprah? I'll leave my thoughts on a $35,000 bag for another day.

  • Laura Moynahan it is a problem when you don't see people and only see color.

  • Amaechi Michael Okobi ... or sex. Or sexuality. Discrimination on all fronts is a definite problem. Curious to see how things end up in Russia.

  • Abbey Shonubi On the $35.000 allow her, when you've got such money spending that is like spending 35cent. Allow her on that abeg, we all deserve to treat ourself.

  • Abbey Shonubi On the colour blind Sales Assistant some people only see black so can't tell who is standing in front of them. Have you ever experience the bag clutching thing?

  • Ifeoma Dike Switzerland is incredibly racist. Though I am no Oprah Winfrey... A couple of years ago, I was in Zurich window shopping. I stumbled into a Wolford store.
Went into the shop and pointed to a blouse, the shop assistant said "it was too expensive"... I
    ...

  • Jude Anyigbo In all of this, how can the black race save itself and be respected by others? Shall we continue shouting racism? Even President Obama is a victim of racist attack and profiling as president!

  • Gregory Daramola Azeez Black is Beautiful. Only myopic beings refuse to acknowledge the endowment of black people. The future belongs to Africa and surely the black people. Racism or no Racism.
Oprah Winfrey said she was a victim of racism during a recent visit to Switzerland. Oprah visited Zurich last month to attend Tina Turner's wedding and while there she visited an up market handbag shop but a shop assistant refused to serve her, saying the bags on display were "too expensive" for her. The bag on display was a $35,000 bag.Lol!.... too expensive for one of the richest women in the world? We learnt that The Oprah Winfrey Show is not shown in Switzerland so they don't know her there...does it now mean that no black person can afford a $35, 000 bag? msh!

Oprah said she left the shop calmly without arguing, but that the experience was proof that racism continues to be a problem. "There's two different ways to handle it. I could've had the whole blow-up thing... but it still exists, of course it does."she said
