President Jonathan makes a stop- over in Germany to the first lady
President Jonathan made a stop-over in Germany to visit his wife,Patience,on his way to the UN General Assembly ,she was scheduled to accompany President Goodluck Jonathan to the the first-ever High-Level Plenary Session of the United Nations on the Rule of Law in New York yesterday. However, she was unable to attend.
The Nation reports that President Jonathan who flew out of the country on Sunday to New York had a stop over in Germany to visit his “ailing wife.”
Sources in New York and at The Presidency in Abuja told The Nation yesterday that the President made a stopover in Frankfurt from where he travelled to Wisbaden to see the First Lady. “Yes; I can confirm to you that there was a stopover in Germany.
That should be expected, especially when the First Lady has been out of the country for quite some time. The most important thing is that the President arrived New York on schedule and he is already settling down for what he came to do here.”
The Special Assistant to the First Lady on Media, Ayo Osinlu said she was expected back in the country this week but did not give a specific date.

According to a statement issued by the Director of Communications, NEITI, Mr. Ogbonnaya Orji, in Abuja the Chairman of the Initiative Mr. Ledum Mitee, disclosed this at a stakeholders’ forum on the Petroleum Industry Bill.
Mr. Mitee urged relevant government agencies responsible for the custody and management of extractive resources’ revenue, including the Federal Inland Revenue Services, Central Bank of Nigeria, Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation and the Department of Petroleum Resources to take practical steps to recover the outstanding money.

Comfort Amos unusually sat where the nursing mothers sat in church on Sunday and particularly sat beside Mariah Toyin Obafemi (Toni's mother), who is also a Sunday School teacher.
Comfort carried and played with Toniloba and after some minutes requested that she wanted to go give her house-help money for 'offering' in the children's church. She left with Toniloba.
After some minutes, Toyin got unsettled and decided to go look for Comfort. All efforts to track Comfort has since proven abortive.
Wole Shonibare, a church member called Comfort and she confirmed she was in Jabi Park and when she was advised to return the baby, she snapped back at him that she will return the baby. All efforts to speak with Comfort after that has been fruitless. She was last tracked to Shendam, Plateau State.

Iran blocks access to Gmail, Facebook, Twitter, other webmail services
The Iranian government appears to have blocked access to Google's search engine and Gmail webmail service from inside Iran;
Access to Google’s search page was also restricted to its unsecured version, web users in Iran found. Attempts to access it using a secure protocol were also blocked, SAPA and Agence France Presse reported.
The curbs were announced in a cellphone text message quoting Abdolsamad Khoramabadi, an adviser to Iran’s public prosecutor’s office and the secretary of an official group tasked with detecting Internet content deemed illegal.
“Due to the repeated demands of the people, Google and Gmail will be filtered nationwide. They will remain filtered until further notice,” the message read.
Google’s own website tracking country-by-country access to its services did not immediately reflect the blocks.
But several residents in Tehran told AFP they were unable to get into their Gmail accounts unless they used VPN (virtual private network) software.

It was gathered that Mr kelechi Nnali of Nkpogoro Ndibe in Afikpo North Local Government Area of
Ebonyi State who is married with two wives and children,pleaded with the boy who saw him committing the crime not to tell anybody, promising that he would give him (the boy)N10, 000 and a handset but the cat was let out of the bag when Mr. Nnali couldnt keep to his promise.
He was summoned by the elders of the community to answer to the allegation as the matter was later taken to Ogo Ezinwachi Play ground where delicate and public matter are usually discussed. At the venue, Mr. Nnali was sanctioned according to the law of the land.
The elders, who were visibly angry with the depraved act, stressed that the man had committed an abomination in the land and must pay the price according to the law of the land.
It was gathered that to cleanse the land of the abominable act, that elderly women of Ndibe had last weekend performed a traditional ablution called Npkompko in Mr. Nnali’s compound. Nnali was reported to have fled the community for fear of being lynched by irate youths of the area.

The groom is Mogaji's grandson/ Bola Tinubu's nephew, Damola Kasunme who tied the knot with his lover of long standing, Princess Seun Akomolafe in a superlative Nikkai ceremony was on the 1st of September 2012.
Damola Kasunme is the Executive Director of Modupe Memorial College, he studied at the University of Wolverhampton, UK and was, last year, awarded ‘Best Education Administrator’ in Lagos State. The couple met while he was in the UK and have been dating for years.

The fatal accident that claimed the life of the bride happened on one of the major roads in Ikeja, in front of Tunde Motors.
“We were all shocked and terrified when we noticed a white Murano SUV decorated with an ‘About To Wed’ somersaulting that fateful Saturday morning. We didn’t know what actually caused the accident. But those who immediately rushed to the scene to rescue the survivors were shocked to find the bride dead. She died immediately the accident happened on the spot."
Infact, we were told that among the occupants of the car, she was the only one who died. They had to remove her wedding gown in order to be able to retrieve her body from the mangled car that was a complete wreck”.
A close family member said, it was like a dream to the groom who was waiting anxiously for her arrival in order for them to begin the solemnization of their marriage in the church under the watchful eyes their family members, friends and well wishers only to be told that the love of his life had been hijacked by the icy hands of death. The man thought he was dreaming until he rushed to the hospital where he was shown the battered corpse of his darling bride by the doctor and broke down in tears uncontrollably.
