Davido Commits Ramadan Sacrilege at Show:

Report had it that;It may have been a messy day for some Muslim faithfuls who trooped out to support music sensation, Davido at his O.B.O album launch last Sunday. Going by some eyewitnesses accounts, the Expo Centre Hall of Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos was filled up. This feat has only been achieved by comedian, Ayo Makun known as AY.

Alhaji Aliko Dangote was said to have been present at the event. Also were Davido's uncle,Isiaka Adeleke, who was a former Osun state governor; first class Obas; children who came with their parents; celebrities and many others.

Though, the event fell under the holy month of Ramadan when Muslim fast to God for purity and other purposes, but Davido still got the support from his Muslim,Christian& other religious believers' lovers. But alas! what did the his Muslim fans and supporters get in return from Davido?

A sacrilege and a gift that had the capability of causing a stain to their prayers in the holy month and render their fast for that day unacceptable before Allah,as God is referred to in Islam. This was because Davido reportedly stormed the stage with some strippers knowing that there were children and Muslims including Aliko Dangote, who were observing Ramadan, present at his album launch.

As if that was not enough, the strippers were said to have done some erotic dance moves before the watching audience, including children. Some of the eyewitnesses, who spoke disclosed that some parents had to take their children out from seeing the X-rated erotic dance moves by the strippers.

Others fumed t it was wrong for a teenager like Davido to come on stage with strippers while Muslims were still observing Ramadan.

One of d eyewitnesses asked the rationale behind the choice of Davido as MTN Pulse brand ambassador.

Was this not expected guys? especially  in a concert like this, it’s a show biz! Anyways have your say

Airline Operators call for the Release of Dana Air to continue commercial operation

In a letter to the Minister of Aviation and the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria dated 24th July 2012, the operators of the airline risks losing huge and significant investments in Nigeria’s fledging aviation industry.

The letter reads ‘’Dana Air currently has 5 Boeing MD83 aircraft in its fleet excluding the ill-fated Aircraft; 3 are serviceable and are on ground on MMA2, while 2 are currently undergoing the statutory C-Checks at the MyTechnic Engineering Base in Turkey’’.

It also added that the preliminary report on the Accident released by the AIB did not indict Dana Airline of any wrong doing. The Airline operators added that Dana is also fully committed to assisting the families of those who lost their lives, as well as properties, during the incident, and has already begun compensating the families in accordance with the law.

The management decry the trend of grounding Airlines and phasing out of a particular fleet of Aircrafts each Accident is becoming a re-curring culture in the Nigerian Aviation Industry as it is contrary to the practice in most of the ICAO member countries.

10-lane Lagos-Badagry expressway to have toll gates, link with other West African countries

The Lagos State government has said it plans to erect two toll gates to generate money from motorists for maintenance of the 10-lane Lagos-Badagry expressway, when it is completed.
The road is currently undergoing expansion from four lanes to ten, and will accommodate a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) lane and light rail that will run from Okokomaiko to the Lagos Island.
Femi Hamzat, the state Commissioner for Works, disclosed that the service lanes will, however, be exempted from the tolling.

Hamzat did not however specify the amount that will be paid as toll gate fee. In his words, “Let us look at it this way. As to how to get back what we spent, it is a 10-lane road with service lanes. And then in the middle, there is a light rail.

We have two BRT lanes. The two middle lanes will be toll. But the service lanes will be there for those who do not want to pay toll.” The commissioner argued that it was the Lagos State government that built the Lagos-Badagry road before the Federal Government took over the road in 1977. According to him, “If you look at the map of Africa, the road links some West African countries. From Lagos, you can actually drive and the road is going up to the Gambia. A lot of people on that route speak French, even up to Morocco.

“That population is about 280 million, and the majority of them spend the same currency. Technically, if we can open up that road, Lagos economy will blossom. It is strategic for us to take up the road”. He also revealed that plans by other African countries to link up with the light rail were put in place after the vice-president of Ghana, John Damina Mahama (now President), approached Governor Babatunde Fashola on the issue.

“What happened was that the vice president of Ghana spoke to Governor Fashola on the possibility. He demanded to see the design of the project. This is to enable him see if it is possible to link up with the project. “It is a talk, and that has been done. That shows you the possibility. If you take a train from London to France, even up to Germany, there is no reason we can’t do the same thing in this part of the world.” “We just need to link ourselves together like they did in Western Europe. One is happy that our leader is thinking in that line too.

It will be a dream if it can happen. At least, that is true, and it is being pursued,” he said.
