Olaniyi Jones Makinde wanted in US for $3.2M Payroll Fraud

Any crime committed abroad especially in U.S.A and Europe there must be reward….which is, the law will make sure you pay for it big time, it doesn’t matter how long it takes, you will surely pay for it  this is a classic example

According to the FBI report, 26 year old Olaniyi Jones Makinde is a wanted man in the USA for being part of a 7-man criminal gang that stole $3.2 million from payroll companies and banks between 2009 and 2010, by using fake websites to trick people into giving up their online usernames and passwords. The other six are: Karlis Karklins, Charles Chidi, Waya Nwaki, Osarhieme Obaygbona, Marvin Dion Hill and Alphonsus Osuala

When the activities of his gang was discovered by FBI in 2010, Olaniyi escaped the US and returned to Nigeria. Unfortunately for him, the US police informed the EFCC about his activities in the US and his wanted status there. The EFCC tracked him down in Nigeria and arrested him.

He's been in Ikoyi prisons since January 2012 where he will be until May 30th where a Federal High Court will hear the extradition request filed by the office of the Attorney General of the Federation against him.

Aside from stealing from companies and banks, Olaniyi also stole from individuals by assuming the false identity of a sexy white chick named Brenda Stuart, and tricking men into sending money and their account details to him.

I'm sure most of us will agree that the law ,make the citizens abroad think twice before they commit any illegal action.

Don Jazzy wants this issue b/w him and D’banj to be a natural death in the media.

Here is what he said Really, if I start responding to every single accusation, then the ‘lazy’ person I’ve been called would come out, and the ‘Fake’ person I am according to critics would obviously come out since I’m not a talkative and you the media know that, I want the handwork of my music productions and the proceeds of good music at Mo’hits to speak for itself, so asking me to comment on issues like this, I really am not just interested, personally my advice to fans is to concentrate on good music from Mo’hits and huhh….well even from Dbanj himself, music is what we were made to create and not controversies”

Do you think that is ever going to happen? considering the fact that they are both still in the public eye?

Lawmaker ask petroleum Minister to quit

Does that mean that the next person that will be appointed will ensure that there will be no fraud in the petroleum sector under the the person’s watch? Let me rephrase the question will there be credibility, accountability? If that is the case I think all Nigerians will agree. If history is going to repeat itself what then is the way forward in this sector……this issue is a sensitive one ,any decision made can either break or make the nation.

A member of the House of Representatives, Robinson Uwak (PDP, Akwa Ibom State), has urged the Minister of Petroleum resources, Mrs Deizana Alison-Madueke, to resign.
Speaking in Abuja, the lawmaker said considering the fraud that occurred in the petroleum sector under her watch, as revealed by the recent house probe of the fuel subsidy, the honourable thing for her to do, would be to resign.
He said he was not accusing the minister of corruption.
The House had resumed consideration of the fuel subsidy probe report on Wednesday, when Mr. Robinson Uwak, raised a point of order on privilege.
He drew the attention of the House to public opinion suggesting that lawmakers were ‘shielding’ Alison-Madueke from prosecution.
Uwak said, “the people of my constituency and Nigerians out there have been bombarding me with calls since yesterday (Tuesday).
“They have accused the House of shielding the minister. I hereby call for the resignation of the Minister of Petroleum Resources.”

Sofyen Belamouadden(who was killed)

She is the 13th person – and only female – to be sentenced for Sofyen’s ‘merciless’ killing in March 2010 which was the result of ‘simmering tensions’ between students at a sixth form college in Ladbroke Grove, west London, and Sofyen’s fellow pupils at Henry Compton School, in Fulham.
Her conviction brings the total of sentences handed down to 124 years.
Three other teenagers – Samson Odegbune and Christopher Omoregie, both 18, along with Obi Nwokeh, 19 – were convicted of murder during a series of trials last year and jailed for 18 years each last week.

Judge Christopher Moss QC told Victoria: “You played a pivotal role in the events leading up to that day and must take a substantial share of the responsibility for that.” However, Sofyen’s family expressed their disappointment at Victoria’s sentence.

His mother, Naina Ghailan, reacted angrily to the sentence. She said: “I’m disgusted. She’s got 12 years and she’ll only serve half. She’s an adult and she should have got life. She planned the whole thing.”

Two die as blasts hit newspaper offices in Abuja and Kaduna

What baffles me is the fact that the boko haram are against western education, these bomb is it not made from the knowledge of western education? This is very serious matter; the need for the government to step up their game is now or else …..I reserve my comment.

At least people have been confirmed dead in a bomb blast at the Thisday newspaper office in Abuja, according to Segun Adeniyi, Chairman of the paper’s Editorial board, while a second explosion that affected the same company, the Sun and the Moment newspaper offices went off in the city of Kaduna.
The explosion in Abuja occurred around 11:30am on Thursday at the offices of ThisDay.
Mr Adeniyi who confirmed that the incidence in Abuja was a suicide bombing said that two men disguised as visitors had drove into the Thisday premises in and and detonated the bomb before the security officers could suspect or stop them.

He said five other person who sustained injuries from the incidence are been treating in a hospital in Abuja.

An official of Nigeria’s National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) said the explosion in Thisday office Abuja was caused by a bomb planted inside the newspaper’s office.

“It’s true there was an explosion at Jabi (district),” NEMA official, Yushau Shuaib said “NEMA officials are on the ground,” said he. “They are trying to move those injured to the hospitals, but we don’t have any information on casualties yet.” The agency in an initial statement had said that it did not believe it was a suicide bombing.

Police and paramilitary were on the scene and had surrounded the offices where the blast had taken place. An Associated Press new agency reporter who heard the explosion said it was very large. Witnesses said another blast in the city of Kaduna hit the Sun newspaper office there. Response from Government The Deputy President of Senate, Ike Ekweremadu has condemned in strong terms the bomb attacks on Thisday and Sun Offices in Abuja and Kaduna.

Mr Ekweremadu who described the attack as a grievous affront on the Nigerian people urged Nigerians to unite in their resistance against all acts of terror. He said: “The Nigerian media industry has distinguished itself in not only fighting for and entrenching the current democratic dispensation, even at very high sacrifices, but has as well stood out as a bastion of our unity and the moral voice of our society. “An attack on the media is therefore an attack on the very fabric of the conscience of our society and the fulcrum of our unity, democracy, and good governance which every Nigerian must stand up against”

The Deputy President of Senate who added that the attack was “dastardly, anti-cultural, and anti-Nigeria”, urged the media not to be cowed, but speak up against all acts of terrorism as Nigerians were in solidarity with them.
