Buhari cuts down cost with the order of disposal of 9 presidential aircraft

Thisday states that President Muhammadu Buhari has directed that nine of the VIP transport aircraft under the presidential fleet should be sold. The presidential fleet, which are registered as Nigerian Air Force aircraft, is one of the largest in Africa and the third largest in Nigeria after Arik Air and Aerocontractors.

For years, the federal government has spent over N12 billion annually for the maintenance of the presidential fleet.

According to an aviation source, who is aware of the directive to sell the aircraft, the presidency has a number of serviceable and unserviceable aircraft that need to be disposed of in order to reduce the amount spent by the federal government for aircraft maintenance annually. “Nine, which still have market value, are to be sold immediately to reduce maintenance costs,”

Of course most average Nigerians are not happy about this with so much economic crisis going on ,the common man cannot afford three square meal a day,the unemployment issues..in fact the poor economic plan in the past which have affect the economy badly, the last thing Nigerians EXPECTED from this new Government –‘CHANGE’ is certainly not pay N17.5 million for each of the 360 members of the House of Representatives and N21.5 million for each of the 109 senators,that is when you break it down,that is the translation. This is asides the other allowances they are entitled to which includes furniture, housing and vehicle.
