Ebola spread since 2013 started with a 2yr old boy in Guinea

Emails flooding my box to stop writing about Ebola that it is too much for  most people to bear......hmmm but how do we get informed....I have to keeping posting on this because it is a big concern to everyone whether home or abroad.

The virus spread from the Southern Guinea village to other parts of Africa after villagers from Sierre Leone and Liberia, who share a border with the village, attended the grandmother's burial. Two of the funeral attendees fell ill and the virus spread from their families to their villages and to health care workers and family members taking care of patients. And one Patrick Sawyer brought it to Nigeria.!
How the child became infected is a biggest mystery as scientist who have traced the the outbreak this time say they don't know how the toddler got infected.

So far, 960 people have died from the virus while 1,779 people have been infected...

Meanwhile the picture above t is the Ebola Isolation Centre in Yaba, Lagos .
God help us all, IJN amen

Another Lagos nurse has been tested positive to Ebola Virus Disease

This is sad Ebola Virus Disease  22 days after the first case of the virus was recorded.
The newly wedded nurse was among the people that had direct contact to the importer of the virus into Nigeria, the late Liberian man, Patrick Sawyer.

According to the Minister of Health, Onyebuchi Chukwu, the husband of the nurse is among the 177 people placed under surveillance.
He said that ten cases of the disease have so far been confirmed in Nigeria, two of them dead while eight are alive and undergoing treatment.

Serum Zmapp drug to cure Ebola has been given to Spanish priest which was denied to Nigeria

The  75 year old Spanish Catholic priest, Miguel Pajares, who got infected with Ebola while working in Liberia will be treated with the experimental drug called ZMapp .
The drug is being administered to the priest at the Madrid’s La Paz-Carlos III hospital where he is in isolation, the Spanish government confirmed.
Some people did not find this funny.the likes of Juliet Ibrahim. She took to her instagram page. Remember,Nigeria's request for the drug was turned down by the US. And according to WHO,the Vaccine may only be ready in 2015.

This is what she stated on her instagram page
: "Nigeria asked for the Zmapp drug and was refused the drug! Now Spanish priest who is now back home safely yet suffering from Ebola; Spanish government request for the exact same drug and they are getting the drug to cure him! Africans! Africans! Africans! I said der is more to dis dat meets d eye! Educate urselves and remember right now prevention is better than cure! This is no time for ignorance to take over us if our leaders are joking with this let's not joke about this. #ebolaawareness it is real. God be with us all"

Nigerians need to walk with Dr.Iwu-Bitter Kola and Ebola

This is a must read, hopefully something good will come out of this.
According to Health Minister…..talking about Dr. Maurice Iwu’s thesis regarding bitter kola and Ebola (Iwu said Kolanut could cure Ebola - based on research), Nigerian Health Minister Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu said the government is considering making laws to arrest people who make bogus claims to have a cure for Ebola, and said Nigeria needs to work with Dr. Iwu. The Minister said todld Vanguard
Professor Onyebuchi Chukwu
"One of the things we decided to focus on by setting up that committee is to streamline claims of possible scientific cure, not a situation where pastors and imams claim  they can cure Ebola.   We might even go to the extent of making laws to arrest people with such bogus claims. We would take every suggestion seriously. About Professor Iwu, we know that quite a number of Nigerians accessed his article through the internet. Continue
What Professor Iwu and his research team proved in America is that in the laboratory test-tube – not in an animal or a human being –  bitter kola extract was able to hinder the growth of Ebola virus, that it was able to slow it down or kill it. That research was not concluded according to Professor Iwu himself and he says he is disappointed that the research was not taken to its logical conclusion.

We need now to work with him and that is why we need him.   He is a distinguished world renowned professor of pharmacognosy; and he is someone we value in this country because of his professionalism and working with others; we would be able to put all ideas to the test and see how far we go. This is a serious business.

Isis want to eradicate all Christians in Iraq and Syria

This group of people as I earlier posted are worse than  al-Qaeda......this Islamist Militant group ISIS has been killing non-Muslims in many cities in Iraq and Syria in their effort to eradicate the Christian faith in the countries...and they are not sparing children. There's been several executions of believers, including crucifixions and the beheadings of children. The children's heads are being erected on poles in a city park according to an eyewitness who spoke with CNN.
"There is a park in Mosul where they actually beheaded children and put their heads on a stick and have them in the park. The world hasn't seen this kind of atrocity in generations"  a prominent Chaldean-American businessman Mark Arabo told CNN
Extreme brutality by ISIS on their prisoners. Members of the Sunni Shaitat tribe are taken from their homes rounded up and marched to their deaths.

Patrick Sawyer simple instruction a grown man like him could not obey"How he denied carrying the virus"

I read this a few days ago,and I think its good to post it so that an emphasis is made to those who have had direct contact to an ebola victim, the only way to curb it is to report yourself so you can be contained to avoid the spread.
A new and extensive report by Front Page Africa chronicles his last hours in Lagos. Read below
"Barely 24 hours before his death, Patrick Sawyer had a rather strange - and in the words of medical and diplomatic sources here, “Indiscipline” encounter with nurses and health workers at First Consultants Hospital in Obalende, one of the most crowded parts of Lagos, a population of some 21 million inhabitants.

Looking to get to the bottom of Sawyer’s strange ailment on the Asky Airline flight, which Sawyer transferred on in Togo, hospital officials say, he was tested for both malaria and HIV AIDS. However, when both tests came back negative, he was then asked whether he had made contact with any person with the Ebola Virus, to which Sawyer denied. Sawyer’s sister, Princess had died of the deadly virus on Monday, July 7, 2014 at the Catholic Hospital in Monrovia. On Friday, July 25, 2014, 18 days later, Sawyer died in Lagos.

"Upon being told he had Ebola, Mr. Sawyer went into a rage, denying and objecting to the opinion of the medical experts “He was so adamant and difficult that he took the tubes from his body and took off his pants and urinated on the health workers, forcing them to flee."The hospital would later report that it resisted immense pressure to let out Sawyer from its hospital against the insistence from some higher-ups and conference organizers that he had a key role to play at the ECOWAS convention in Calabar, the Cross River State capital. In fact, FrontPageAfrica has been informed that officials in Monrovia were in negotiations with ECOWAS to have Sawyer flown back to Liberia. A text message in possession of FrontPageAfrica from the ECOWAS Ambassador in Liberia, responding to a senior GoL official reads: Your Excellency, the disease control department of the Federal Ministry of Health just contacted me through the hospital now, insisting that Mr. Sawyer be evacuated for now. Pls advise urgently.” In the aftermath of Sawyer’s death, diplomatic, ECOWAS and medical authorities here are baffled over Sawyer’s deception, especially armed with new information that his sister, Princess had died of the deadly virus and his denial. Finance Ministry sources in Monrovia are in quiet murmur over what they feel was a letdown by Sawyer for not being forthcoming with his peers he worked with.

The ministry has since been temporarily shut down and those who came in contact with Sawyer are on a 21-day forced incubation monitoring process. "All senior officials coming in direct or indirect contact with Mr. Sawyer has been placed on the prescribed 21 days of observatory surveillance," the ministry said in a statement this week. FrontPageAfrica has now learnt that Sawyer exhibited similar indiscipline behavior during his sister’s stay at the Catholic Hospital in Monrovia where she was taken because he noticed she was bleeding profusely and was later found to be a victim of Ebola. Sawyer was seen with blood on his clothing after his sister’s death and had earlier demanded that she be placed in a private room. President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf cited indiscipline and disrespect as a key reason why Sawyer contracted the Ebola virus. She said his failure to heed medical advice put the lives of other residents across the nation’s border at risk.

The family of the nurse who died from Ebola are on the run

The stigma on family of the Nigerian nurse who died after getting infected with the Ebola virus are on the run. The husband and children according to Business day reports that, this was confirmed by Nigerian  health officials .
If you recall, she is the first Nigerian to die from the virus after contacting it from Liberian,Patrick Sawyer.Meanwhile,  the Minister of Health said 139 people are under surveillance with 9 confirmed cases.

“The total number of cases, as of this morning, (Friday) stands at nine out of which eight are Nigerians and one American-Liberian.Out of the nine confirmed cases, seven are alive and are receiving treatment In Lagos.“I am saying this to enlighten people that having Ebola does not mean you have been condemned to death, survivors have been recorded.

In Jos 2 people dead, others hospitalised after the excess salt consumption to prevent Ebola

It’s a big shame some people fell for the Ebola prevention via consumption of salt
It has been reported that at least two persons have been feared killed and 20 others hospitalised in various hospitals in Plateau State after consuming excessive quantity of salt and bitter kola to prevent Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) attack.
The two, were rushed to the hospital by their family members after they suddenly collapsed in the morning, having consumed too much of salt over night. They later died of high blood pressure in the hospitals.
According to medical personnel in the hospitals where the other patients are currently taking treatment in Jos, some developed ulcer, while others stool profusely, having consumed the tablesalt in excess.

Ebola &bitter kola now Salt water?

This is going viral on social media, taking a shower before 5:30am with salt will cure and prevent you from getting Ebola or eating bitter kola will.
I find this quite funny because it that was the case top scientist who have been on this case trying to find a solution to it would have mentioned it......... In my opinion the Vaccine is still being searched in Billions of money so until then be on the look out,it only when you touch  acutely ill Ebola victim that you get it
