Liberian man being treated for Ebola virus in Lagos


On the 24th of July the Lagos State Ministry of Health  said a Liberian man in his 40s is being tested for the deadly Ebola virus in Lagos. 

On July 14th, the Lagos state government issued an alert to residents of the state over the deadly virus currently sweeping through some west African countries, including Liberia.

Further details on the outcome of the test is still being expected. This would be the first recorded case of one of the world's deadliest diseases in Nigeria.


Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Public Health, Dr Yewande Adeshina said the Liberian man being tested for the Ebola Virus is currently at a private hospital in Obalende, Lagos. She said the man has been isolated and the hospital vicinity cordoned off and that 30 other people are also being tested for possible contact with the deadly virus. Dr Adeshina warned residents to; “keep personal and environmental hygiene” and urged those who notice “strange feeling or symptoms similar to those of Ebola virus, which ranges from fever, headache, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, sore throat and joint pains, which are all symptoms of other ailments, to visit competent health facilities”.

Former CBN Governor Sanusi Lamido Sanusi meets President Jonathan



On the 23rd of July President Jonathan meets  former CBN Governor and newly installed Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi since Sanusi's installation as Emir.

The meeting which held at Presidential Villa in Abuja where Sanusi had gone to break the Ramadan fast with the President. The reconciliation meeting was brokered by the Sultan of Sokoto, Saa’ad Abubakar

24hour curfew in Kaduna over deadly twin explosion killing 25people today.



This is what has been making headline ….The second bomb blast that rocked the Kawo area of Kaduna state this afternoon was aimed at former Head of State and Chieftain of the APC, General Muhammadu Buhari.

Report from BBC Africa, about 90 minutes after the first bomb went off along Alkali Rd, a second explosion ripped through the crowded Kawo area, targeting the motorcade of Gen Buhari.

Gunmen rammed a vehicle into his convoy, firing shots at it. The report says two of Gen. Buhari's bodyguards were slightly wounded in the attack, he however escaped unhurt. (Above is a allegedly a pic Gen. Buhari's car after the attack today
Meanwhile, Kaduna state Governor, Ramalan Yero, has declared a 24-hour curfew in the Kaduna metropolis following the deadly twin explosions that killed at least 25 people
