Enugu first lady is still under house arrest Clara Chime
She has decided to hire Falana to secure her release - Sahara Reporters
Human rights lawyer Femi Falana has asked the
Inspector-General of Police, Mr. MD Abubakar, to ensure the immediate release
from unlawful detention of Mrs. Clara Chime, the First Lady of Enugu State who
is being held hostage at Government House Enugu by Governor Sullivan Chime, or
be dragged to court.
In a letter dated
November 1, 2013, Mr. Falana, representing Mrs. Chime, pointed out that his
client has been kept incommunicado in solitary confinement for over four months
on the directives of Governor Chime.

“Thus our client’s fundamental rights to the dignity of her
person, personal liberty, fair hearing, private and family life
and freedom of
movement guaranteed by the Constitution and the African Charter on Human and

Nigeria 2004 have been violated without any legal justification,” it said

Mercy Johnson blasts Nollywood marketers
Film and Video Producers and Marketers Association of Nigeria,FVPMAN, to blacklist Mercy Johnson Okojie,, in what they call, “ Withdrawing of service from her.
Mercy Johnson Okojie took to Twitter this morning to hit back at Nollywood Movie Marketers who are planning to ban her for being too expensive. Mercy charges between N1.8m to N2m per movie.

Nollywood stars, Omotola Jolade Ekeinde, Genevieve Nnaji, Richard Mofe Damijo and Nkem Owoh in 2005 were the first Nollywood stars to reportedly come under the blacklist hammer of marketers after they allegedly began charging N1m for their roles. The alleged blacklist ultimately gave other actresses like Ini Edo and Uche Jumbo the opportunity to rise to stardom. Mercy has been warned she may suffer severe consequences if she refuses to back down.

Fire outbreak at Great Nigeria House, Balogun Market
According to report there was a fire outbreak at Great Nigeria House at Balogun Market in Lagos this morning. The cause of the fire is yet to be On the ground were National Commission for Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI), National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), LASEMA, and the Lagos State Fire Service as well as Federal Fire Service to quench the fire.
