Ex Minister Margaret Thatcher dies at 87

Ex British Prime Minister, Baroness Margaret Thatcher died yesterday morning at the age of 87 after suffering a massive stroke.  She was the first female UK Prime Minister.

The deputy governor of Ekiti State, Mrs. Funmilayo Olayinka, dies at 52.



Mrs. Olayinka had been sick for some time as she suffered from cancer.
Funmilayo Olayinka has been deputy governor since 16th October 2010. She was also a champion of women’s rights. She came to the Ekiti government house from the banking sector.
She leaves behind a husband and three children on Saturday night
She died in a hospital in Lagos State where she was receiving treatment.

Fatal accident killing over 100 people on Benin-Ore Expressway

According to report, this happened this afternoon at Igbogui village in Benin and involved three heavy duty vehicles; a Young Shall Grow Motors luxury bus, a fuel tanker with registration number GA 71 XA, and a Dangote truck carrying cement. The fuel tanker exploded causing fire which spread and all the shops and cars were burnt. Survivors have been rushed to the hospital.

Teenage footballer in fatal attack after he asked fellow teenage girl to get off the pitch

Cherelle McKenzie-Jackson, 14, telephoned her boyfriend (Marc Anthony Tulloch, 17)and ordered him to come and stab Junior Nkwelle, 15, in Brixton, south London, who died after the attack, the court heard.

She thought that Junior had insulted her or been less than respectful to her.
She was very angry and determined that he should be punished - indeed stabbed - to put things right.

Cherelle McKenzie-Jackson was detained for eight years while Marc Anthony Tulloch, 17, was also given 10 years behind bars for the killing on the Loughborough Estate, in Brixton, south London.
