Saudi prince blasts Forbes after they said he's 'only worth £13billion'

According to the prince’s calculations he should have been ranked at number ten with a £19.5billion fortune, right behind L’Oreal heiress Liliane

Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal is threatening to boycott an annual list of the world’s super-rich, after Forbes magazine claimed he was worth ‘only’ £13billion. He is unhappy with a ‘flawed’ estimation of his wealth, which left him languishing in 26th place with a mere £13billion. Prince Alwaleed, the Saudi King Abdullah’s nephew, insists his investments in London’s Savoy Hotel, Apple, Citigroup and News Corp have been undervalued.

Prince Alwaleed has written to the magazine’s editor-in-chief Steve Forbes asking to be removed from the list, saying he will no longer work with their valuation teams. He has reportedly instructed his lawyers to look into taking legal action. But he will continue to cooperate with the rival Bloomberg billionaires index, which ranks him as the world’s 16th-richest person with a fortune of £18.5billion. He alleges that Forbes refused to accept valuations of his company's stocks on Tadawul, the Saudi Arabian stock market, but says that the index takes into account valuations on other emerging markets.

Staff of National Hospital Abuja protest

Workers staged a protest over poor conditions of service by different categories of workers
According to Jelili Kelani, the chairman of the hospital’s senior staff association the workers had decided to embark on a three-day warning strike to be followed by an indefinite strike if the workers’ demands were not met.

A visibly angry female worker asked, “How can I be working for fourteen years and I’m not entitled to 28 days leave allowance? And I have no promotion, no salary increment, and no training?” She lamented the experience of one colleague who reportedly slumped in a bank where she had gone to collect money.
She said the management’s reaction to the tragedy was to provide a paltry N30, 000 towards the burial of the deceased. “It shows callous disregard for workers that the management of the National Hospital would put in a mere N30, 000 in the burial of a staff who died in active service,” she said.

Missing babies in January found dead in Ketu, Lagos

This from Punch.
Two toddlers in Ketu, Lagos State, who were declared missing on January 25, 2013 have been found dead in an abandoned vehicle on the premises of a building next to theirs on Taike Street, Ketu, Lagos.

The dead bodies, were identified as those of Toheeb Adedokun and Falilu Tajudeen, both three years old, who disappeared from their parents’ house located at 18 Taike street, Ketu on January 25, 2013.
Police said the bodies were found following report by two staff of the Ketu branch of a micro finance bank.

The bodies of the children were reportedly in their decomposing state. But the circumstances surrounding their death could, however, not be ascertained.

It was gathered that they probably strayed or were kidnapped that fateful day, following the rowdiness of the area, as a result of the burial ceremony of the owner of the building

Since their disappearance, both parents have made frantic efforts to locate their whereabouts. They were therefore, taken by surprise when they were invited by the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, in-charge of Ketu division yesterday, where the news was broken to them.

Father of one of the children, Rasaq Adedokun, a commercial driver, who was too stunned to speak, simply stated that he was at work when he was informed about his son’s disappearance. Meanwhile, operatives at the Special Anti Robbery Squad have reportedly taken over the investigation.
