The nation will“get another power minister with such competent level.” Says Jonathan

President Goodluck Jonathan has said that the former minister of Power, Barth Nnaji’s resignation wasn’t due to any offence he committed.
President Jonathan said this at the Anambra Townhall meeting held on Thursday in Anambra State.
The President noted that he was using the opportunity of being in the midst of South-Eastern leaders to state that, “Barth Nnaji didn’t commit any offence, he is credible and a product of the World Bank.”
He added that the former minister’s resignation was accepted in order to protect the privatization process of the power sector.
President Jonathan assured that the nation will “get another power minister with such competent level.”
Prof. Barth Nnaji had voluntarily resigned as minister of Power on Tuesday “to protect his integrity” after he willingly disclosed his relationship with the two companies who are bidding for Afam Power Station and Enugu Distribution Company.

Nine member of a family died of generator fume


This horrible incident happened in Imo state on the 9th of July
9 member of a family  died  from  generator fume. According to the autopsy result released yesterday by the State Commissioner for Health, Dr Obi Njoku, he said cause the of death of the Emekuku was as a result of  generator fume poisoning.

That the family slept and forgot to switch off their generator set and subsequently died as a result of the generator fume they inhaled while asleep and not by ‘evil spirits'

Before this this report,it was had rumoured that their death was spiritual by friends, and neighbours

Federal government approves $11m for condoms and family planning

According to report, N11.5million has been approved for the procurement of family planning commodities such as condoms and contraceptives to reduce maternal mortality rate, the government proclaimed that reproductive health commodities and family planning commodities like condoms and implants to be made free.”

“So the government along with the partners made a forecast as to what we need in the country and contributed $3millio in 2011 through a Memorandum of Understanding which we implemented.”
