Right after Muna’s apology to Mode 9, her representative releases this statement

Muna apologises to Mode 9
shortly after this her representative releases this below,I thought it was well said....what do you think?
"To Whom It May Concern.

It has come to my attention that the unfortunate incident that occurred at the Nokia “Don’t Break The Beat” competition on Saturday the 28th of April 2012, where RMG artiste Muna was a Presenter, and Nigerian rap icon Mode 9 was a Judge, has turned into a media/blog frenzy.

This unfortunate misunderstanding happened on stage, and the verbal exchange between Muna and Mode 9, even though it started out as opinions quickly escalated into what I’m sure we all have seen in the. clip posted on the Internet by Nigezie.

Mode 9 and Muna did not have any pre-existing misunderstanding or “beef” before the Nokia event. Muna’s brief as a Presenter, aside introducing the Contestants and asking the Judges for their remarks and scores, was to add more banter to the judging process, this she had done very well and incident free throughout the Zonal “rap battles” in cities like Lagos, Enugu, Benin and Abuja.

As Muna’s management, we are duty bound to take care of this situation professionally, issue statements and all that, but as I’m in a privileged position and I know all parties involved personally, including co-judges Rogba (CEO, Knighthouse) and DJ Jimmy Jatt, I had called everyone involved to sort out this unfortunate issue amongst ourselves the morning after the incident. The clip of the incident surfacing on the Internet only just re-ignited what we’ve been trying to diffuse since the very next day.

Like I said, we all have seen the video clip, and the interviews that followed, and of course the onslaught of comments on the internet, the justified, the objective, the insults, the threats of violence and of course a few sensible and supportive ones as well.

Time will tell if Muna and Mode 9 trending on Twitter would prove to be a good thing and we’ll all get together and laugh about it later. Muna is a fast rising talent in the rap game, this was recognized by Nokia who gave her the opportunity to appear in their TV commercial and also present the “Don’t Break The Beat” competition which was a massive success.

The brand also showed some street cred by employing the undisputed knowledge of rap in appointing Mode 9 as the Head Judge at the Finals. We would like to thank Nokia and the team at YDx for putting together a successful competition. Lastly, I would like to reiterate that this issue will not be resolved publicly and played out in the media or on blog pages for the amusement and enjoyment of gossip junkies and gist merchants. I’m sorry to disappoint those who are waiting with their mouths open, there will be no leaked emails, back and forth exclusive interviews or Twitter “gangsterisms”.

At least not from our side, and as you all know, Mode 9 is big a man enough not to subscribe to media hype over something that, quite rightly, he took as disrespectful but not life threatening. This is Hip Hop, not the Civil War Part 2.

Capsules containing human flesh!

How far can you go to cure an ailment? In some part of the world some people go as far as using dead babies……
Just read

THOUSANDS of smuggled drug capsules filled with powdered flesh from dead babies, which some people believe can cure disease, have been seized by Customs officials in South Korea.

The capsules were made in North-Eastern China from babies whose bodies were chopped into small pieces and dried on stoves before being turned into powder, the Korea Customs Service said.

Customs officials refused to say where the dead babies came from or who made the capsules, citing possible diplomatic friction with Beijing.
Chinese officials ordered an investigation into the production of drugs made from dead fetuses or newborns last year.

The customs office has discovered 35 smuggling attempts since August of about 17,450 capsules disguised as stamina boosters, and some people believe them to be a panacea for disease, the customs service said in a statement. The capsules of human flesh, however, contained bacteria and other harmful ingredients. The smugglers told customs officials they believed the capsules were ordinary stamina boosters and did not know the ingredients or manufacturing process.

Ethnic Koreans from North-Eastern China, who now live in South Korea, were intending to use the capsules themselves or share them with other Korean-Chinese, a customs official said. They were carried in luggage or sent by international mail. The capsules were all confiscated but no one has been punished because the amount was deemed small and they weren't intended for sale, said the customs official, who requested anonymity, citing department rules.

China's State Food and Drug Administration and its Health Ministry did not immediately respond to questions faxed to them yesterday. Chinese media identify North-Eastern China as the source of such products, especially Jilin province which abuts North Korea. The Jilin Food and Drug Safety Agency is responsible for investigating the trade of such remains there. Calls to the agency and to the information office of Jilin's Communist Party were not answered.

The South Korean Customs Agency began investigating after receiving a tip a year ago. No sicknesses have been reported from ingesting the capsules.

Another side story of the cause of Rashidi Yekini’s death

Aggrieved youths at Busayo Taiwo Street, Oni and Sons area residence of the former Super Eagles striker, Rashidi Yekini, in Ibadan took to the streets on Monday, protesting against and warning the family members of the late footballer to stay away from his property on the street.

What’s your thought on this? I wonder what the warning would result to from this angry youths?

Yekini, allegedly died on Friday after being forcefully whisked away by family members with some Islamic clerics on April 8 (Easter Monday) with claims that he was taken away to be cured of his insanity.

However, one of the aggrieved youths, Yomi Ojo, who claimed to be a friend to the deceased, said that there was no indication that Yekini was mentally imbalance at the time in question. According to him, “the family was not happy with him for sending all his tenants away and living alone in his expansive home without entertaining any of the family members and friends…I have known him for about seven years. Yekini…was a quiet and disciplined man. He loved keeping to himself. But at times he confided in me.”

Do continue

Mr. Ojo further said “when they came for him, they chained his arms and legs and while struggling to break lose, he (Yekini) sustained bruises all over his body and was blood soaked.”

He explained that “All pleas to be set free fell on deaf ears. His mother, sister, Sekinat; and brother, Wasiu; with two Islamic clerics bundled him into a bus and drove off. He called for help while he was being driven away but those in the neighbourhood were helpless because it was a family issue.

We never knew it could lead to his death.” Another youth, Lasun Olonande, said, “Sometimes ago the family members came with a team of policemen to force him to go with them but he explained to the police that he was not mentally sick as alleged by the family. As a result of this he was left to go.

He was an easy-going person and did not like flamboyant life. He was always giving to those in need. The beggars usually lined up in his house to take food.” One of the aides of Senator Rashidi Ladoja, Nofiu Isiaka, popularly called ‘Aluta,’ who lives in the area, said, “He had girlfriends which he brought home once a while…If he was mad would the girls have agreed to go out with him? We are angry. We know that his house is not our property but we want our temper to die down before the family come around to fight over his inheritance.”

Meanwhile, the Oyo State government has set up an endowment fund for children of the late Nigerian ex-international, Rashidi Yekini. This was made known on Monday after the state executive council meeting by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon Dapo Lam-Adesina. According to him, the endowment fund, which will be strictly for the children of the late football star, would be managed in conjunction with the family of the deceased.

Stock Exchange council spent N186 million on 165 Rolex wrist watches – Arunma Oteh

Financial schemes and misappropriation of funds by former council members of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) was responsible for the near collapse of the capital market.
According to the director-general of the Securities and Exchange Commission, Ms Arunma Oteh, the former council members carried out fraudulent transactions which includes the purchase of N186 million worth of wristwatches without proper accounts and a yacht for N39 million.
So much is really going on in this our country, even when the good ones occupy key positions to try to make things better for the nation, most of the bad eggs in the government frustrate their effort, why can they look beyond, besides, thinking of their own selfish gains?

This was part of the revelations of the Director General of the Security and Exchange Commission (SEC), Arunma Oteh on Monday at the resumed hearing of the House of Representative ad-hoc committee probing the near collapse of the capital market.

Speaking about the NSE, she said “it was brought to my attention that there were incidences of financial scheming, misappropriation, false accounting, misrepresentations, and questionable transactions”. “For instance, the council of the Nigeria stock Exchange bought a yacht for N37 million and wrote down the book value within one year by recognising it in its books as a gift presented during its 2008 long service award” she alleged. “Yet there are no record of the beneficiary,” she added.

Dr Oteh also alleged that the council of the stock exchange also spent N186 million on the purchase of 165 Rolex wrist watches, as gift for awardees out of which only 73 were actually presented to the awardees. “The outstanding 92 Rolex watches valued at N99.5 million remained unaccounted for.” “These were the kind of financial imprudence that were perpetrated at the Nigerian stock exchange,” Ms Oteh said.

The SEC Boss accused the NSE of “weaknesses in corporate governance, weaknesses in risk management, weaknesses in internal control, insufficient oversight of brokerage firms and listed companies and inabilities to enforce rules.” She noted that the inspection team that examined the NSE found out that “more than 2, 700 investors complaint lodged with the Nigeria Stock Exchange had yet to be treated.”

Lagos State Sacks over 1000 striking Doctors

By Citizensplatform The Lagos state government on Monday sacked over 1000 doctors working in its state hospitals. The Doctors in state-owned hospitals began an indefinite strike on April 24, 2012, to press for the downward review of taxes and the full implementation of the Consolidated Medical Salary Scale (CONMESS), and other demands.
The secretary of the Medical Guild, Idris Durojaiye confirmed the present situation
However, the doctors will reportedly be holding a press conference to decide their next line of action.
Meanwhile, The Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) had cancelled a planned solidarity strike with Lagos doctors.

The body says the strike will no longer hold and that it has set up a negotiating team with the government to find solution to the ongoing strike.
NMA Chairman, Lagos chapter, Dr Edamisan Temiye said the decision of the body was due to a meeting it had with its parent body in Abuja, last week.
He said: “We wish the team concludes with the state within the shortest possible time so that doctors can go back to their duty posts.”
While the dialogue is going on, Temiye said, the strike in the state would continue. Chairman, Medical Guild Dr Olumuyiwa Odusote said the striking doctors met the House of Assembly on Saturday in a bid  to find solution to the problem. The meeting was deadlocked.

He said the parties have slated another meeting for today. Patients are still not been admitted in most of the government-owned hospitals while those on admission have either been discharged or referred to Federal Government owned hospitals or private health facilities to seek care.

All fingers crossed, that the negotiation team with the government in the next meeting favours the citizens…ah life has no duplicate

Kris Jenner (Kim Kardashian’s mum) wants to keep the $305k from B&P cosmetics

Just before you read the post. The Kardashians’ ……drama, drama…drama, not a day goes by that you don’t hear or read about this family….is that correct or wrong?

Mama Kardashian(Kris Jenner) was sued by B&P cosmetics in 2011, after they claimed her facelift tarnished the reputation of their product "Beautiful Eyes in Bag" -- for which Jenner was the celebrity spokeswoman.

Here was what Mama Kardashian had to say - the facelift didn't affect my eyes, or my ability to endorse the product, they are trying to renege on their contract.
She has now filed a countersuit last month in Ohio.

In legal docs, Kris says she held up her end of the deal and alleges B&P is exploiting her well publicized trip under the knife in order to squirm out of their contract.

According to docs, Jenner wants to keep the $305k advance B&P gave her and seeks compensatory damages and legal fees for the entire ordeal.

A judge has yet to rule.

What do you think?....is this company really trying to renege their contract?
