Bikini to women 100 pounds heavier than Gisele Bundchen; the plus-size collection, hits the beach

PHOTO OF THE DAY

Cancel your Copocabana beach vacation now. Apparently, not everyone in Brazil looks like Gisele Bundchen

At least that’s what Brazilian swim suit manufacturers have discovered.

That’s why their new collections are increasingly targeted not at the way Victoria’s Secret catalogs present the “girls from Ipanema”, but to real Brazilian women. Namely those with a bit more “junk in the trunk” than your average supermodel.

Personally, I think these designers are becoming more realistic…….ha…hopefully, girls will stop chewing papers all in the name of fitting into size 2 (clothes that is)

Mandela bank notes to be issued by South Africa

Central bank governor Gill JOHANNESBURG, South Africa — A new set of bank notes featuring Nelson Mandela's image are to be issued by South Africa.

The Mandela bank notes will be issued in denominations of 10, 20, 50, 100 and 200 rand, and will replace the current safari-themed notes that carry images of the "Big 5" animals: lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and Cape buffalo.

Mandela, 93, became South Africa's first democratically elected president in 1994. He was released from prison on Feb. 11, 1990 — 22 years ago today — after spending 27 years behind bars, many of them at the infamous Robben Island prison.

President Jacob Zuma said the bank notes were a "humble gesture" to express the "deep gratitude" of South Africans toward Mandela.

"It is a befitting tribute to a man who became a symbol of this country's struggle for freedom, human rights and democracy," Zuma said, speaking at the central bank in Pretoria.

"The bank notes will make us remember and appreciate our achievements in order to continue the journey towards a more prosperous society."

The South African Reserve Bank is in the process of producing the new bank notes, but a release date has yet to be announced.

Advance notice of a news conference at the central bank briefly rattled the markets, with traders on edge about South Africa's economy.

The rand dropped 2.5 percent against the dollar, but rebounded after bank officials said the news would not be about interest rates or resignations.

Bayelsa Governorship Election

Yenagoa-(NAN) The Bayelsa Governorship election started on a slow note today (11/02/2012) with slight delays in the distribution of election materials and voters trickling in, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports. INEC officials, including the ad hoc staff were seen at about 8.30 a.m. waiting for the arrival of polling materials.

At about 9.30 a.m. in Fanye Primary School, Agbura in Yenagoa, security was adequate with more than five policemen in the centre; election materials were available but the voters were not coming out.

NAN reports that the INEC officials and security agents are in place waiting for the materials to arrival. (NAN)

Will definitely keep you updated the election.

Property 50 50 (I was just wondering about the Katy Perry divorce and why Americans split their property 50 50 when they divorce).

Some property is considered a product of the marriage and, therefore, fair game to be split among a divorcing couple. This property includes:

    * wages earned during the marriage
    * real property (homes and land) bought during the marriage
    * personal items such as furniture and cars, and even pensions accrued during the marriage

According to the American Bar Association, property should be divided equally because they view marriage as a joint undertaking in which both spouses are presumed to contribute equally to the acquisition and preservation of property.

I understand that in Nigeria, a man can divorce his wife and not pay alimony or give her any support whatsoever. However, in most cases there is a token amount agreed between the two parties.

Just a thought in my head………I felt I should share it with you.
