Cardinals have elected a new Pope as white smoke rose from
above the Sistine Chapel, indicating the Roman Catholic Church has a new
successor.
He becomes the first non European Pope to be elected,76 year old Cardinal Jorge
Bargoglio is from Argentina and was the Archbishop of Buenos Aires.
