The car, the 29 delegates from Akwa Ibom to the United Arab Emirates(UAE) courtesy of the Governor who promised to throw the state's treasury open to bank roll, an all expense paid trip for the white wedding scheduled for March 23rd in Dubai.
Governor Akpabio also promised to rehabilitate the Eket Ibena road which is in a deplorable state before the next child dedication of the Idibia's.
Despite the criticism, here are some of those who supported him for his kind gesture A supporter of the Governor,Egonde Okorie, was excited about the Governors donation to the Idibia's and expressed dissatisfaction at those 'making shallow minded comments which he said would not happen in civilised countries. Also another supporter of the Governor,Ikazabor Victor,said "there is no big deal about just two SUV's as wedding gift" and blamed poverty by the comments of the Governor's critics.
An activist stated that "if the money on the ego trip to Dubai were to be invested in the provision of books to school libraries,medical facilities and boreholes to communities in the state,including the musicians new wife's village, many citizens will derive more utilitarian value from the expenditure". Seriously this is misplacement of priority,all that for what.2face is already in millions,did he do anything extra ordinary for hunanity,im not beefing but most people are languishing in this state and this how he uses govt fund.My heart bleed for this nation.
I'm currently doing my masters in UK,i dont intend to comeback,the country is in a mess,those in govt have no idea what it takes to rule.
