FG Supports Lagos Plan to Clear Apapa of Tankers

Good news really, but how about providing more parking lot so that there will be no excuses for these illegal parking?

The Federal Government has backed the moves of the Lagos State Government to remove tankers and stationary vehicles illegally parked in Apapa area of the state.
The Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola has given a quit notice to tanker drivers and other vehicles to vacate the area as they cause serious traffic on the Oshodi- Apapa expressway.
The Special Adviser to the President on Performance and Evaluation and Chairman of the Ports Reform Committee, Professor Sylvester Monye met with Governor Fashola at the State House, Ikeja and declared that all trucks parked along Apapa road will be moved.
Monye said that what Lagos State Government achieved with Oshodi expressway is what needs to be done for Apapa, emphasizing that notices have been given just as undertakings have been made by the truckers.
Security officers will also be deployed to the area to ensure the operation is effectively carried out.
Prof. Monye said the Port Reforms Committee is committed to carrying out the instructions of President Goodluck Jonathan in clearing the mess at the port and its access roads.
